Who is our target market? Most people marketing "make money" products are going after the wrong crowd.
Do we market to "opportunity seekers"? Absolutely not!
This is so critical to understand right now. Opportunity seekers are people who have filled out a generic "make money from home" or "work at home" ad.
These people most likely have never owned a home business in the past and certainly do not know the specifics of our industry.
When you work with these types of leads and traffic, you are setting yourself up for a whole lot of frustration.

There is nothing like achieving exponential growth. Instead of merely meeting targets, but rather to see sales multiply is something that we all want. For over a year I saw such growth, and it is simply amazing. It is a totally different ball game than trying to grow few percent every year!
For one whole year I went with $0 income. Something had to change; online business was not working for me. Thankfully enough, I did not quit, though that original home business failed, I managed to find out what worked. 1.5 years after the state of despondency, I found exponential growth.

Many times friends and family fail to understand that even though you are at home, you are still working, hence the term work at home business. Very few spouses or children would ever think of interrupting someone while they were at work outside the home, yet they have no compunction about dropping into their home office unexpectedly to discuss any topic.
It is a learning experience for family members when a business is operating out of the home and some may even feel as though they are being imposed upon by having to stay out of a room in 'their' house because you decided to stay at home and work, turning the spare bedroom into an office and posting a private sign on the door. Lots of people fail in their home businesses. Failure is easier than success, after all, even though it hurts more. There are plenty of things you can do that will easily increase your odds of failure.
1. Talk, but don't act.
Go ahead. Tell everyone that you're going to start a home business. Maybe even buy a business kit or ebook that tells you all about what you need to do in order to get started. But actually start? No.
2. Work as little as possible on your business.
Lots of people get started, but then do very, very little work on their business. There's always something else going on, whether it's family life, a regular job or a hobby.
Know what? An hour a week isn't going to get you very far in business. If you want to get to the point where your business practically runs itself, you're going to have to work hard to reach that point. It takes time, often years, to have so much as a shot at putting your business on anything resembling autopilot.

Owning and operating a work from home based business has many advantages, but working in an office with others has the social aspect that a home business lacks. This social aspect is a double-edged sword; most home business owners chose to work from home based on office politics or the independence that comes from being their own boss. However, like it or not, co-workers, colleagues, and supervisors provided you with companionship at your old job.
How can you fight the feeling of isolation when your home office is quiet and you have been working alone for hours on end? The key is to feel as though you are part of society while not being distracted. There should be a balance between interruptions and total solitude. There are a few ways that you can feel as though you are not alone while still remaining productive.
Turn On the Radio or Television
Depending on your level of distraction, you could turn on the radio or television to keep you company. Light music works wonders, and some people find that having background noise from the radio or television helps to cure loneliness.
